I’m on the brink of bringing some clarity to the direction of this blog. Seth Godin made a great point recently about describing yourself in too many ways. I tend to agree with him but that doesn’t mean it’s any less demoralizing to anwer the question “So, what do you do?” with a one-dimensional answer. Do I answer with a job description handed down from the people who pay me? Do I tell them that I sing out loud to my iPod in the streets of Toronto?
There’s something to be said about the balance between clarity and diversity. I see little shops now and again, Jian’s Fruit & Fruit for example, and I have a pretty good idea what Jian sells. When I think “Seth Godin” the word “insight” comes to mind. Despite all his public speaking, book writing, blogging, squidooing - I can wrap all that up in a single word. Mission accomplished Seth.
