the definition of music
Over the weekend my friends and I were hanging out after not seeing each other for nearly a year since graduation. Some topics attracted some attention, others maybe a bit more. When the topic of music came up though, everyone had something to say. I got a chance to see what music meant to everyone there. Here are just a few of the ways I’ve heard music described in the last little while, along with some of my favourite music quotes mixed in.
Music is a soundtrack to your life.
Music is the only language spoken in all corners of the world.
Without music, life would be a mistake.

Music was what we used before emoticons.
Music is one of the few things that the world can’t take from you… ever. You just have to know the tune.

Words make you think a thought. Music makes you feel a feeling. A song makes you feel a thought.
Music fills the infinite between two souls.
Music is for those of us lost for words.
Most people live and die with their music still unplayed. They never dare to try.
Music is perpetual, and only the hearing is intermittent.
